Project Description
Entering the spirits industry is no small feat, especially when it comes to vodka, one of the most competitive and regulated markets. Hamer Vodka is set to make a splash with its distinctive branding—bottles shaped like Thor's hammer. Tasked with helping the company establish its identity and presence, I led the initial branding, website development, and content creation, all while navigating the regulations of the alcohol industry and the complex intellectual property landscape.
Creating a brand stack for Hamer Vodka required careful consideration of both creative and compliance elements. We had to ensure that all branding and marketing materials were meticulously crafted to avoid infringing on Disney’s intellectual property, as we all know how much they love to sue.. I developed a unique brand identity that highlighted the product's unique selling points and aligned with its mythological inspiration while staying clear of any potential IP conflicts.
My contributions included:
Initial Branding: Developed the visual and verbal identity of Hamer Vodka, including spearheading a logo design, color schemes, and brand messaging that conveyed the essence of power and tradition.
Website Development: Directed the creation of a sleek, user-friendly website that showcased the brand's story and product in an engaging manner while ensuring compliance with legal standards.
Website Copy: Crafted all website content with a focus on clarity, engagement, and adherence to regulatory guidelines, ensuring the messaging was both captivating and compliant.
Recognizing the regulatory environment, I designed a top-level marketing plan that outlined clear benchmarks and goals for each quarter. This plan was structured to meet federal advertising regulations, ensuring that all marketing activities were lawful and ethical. Key elements of the marketing plan included:
Market Research: Conducted extensive market research to identify target demographics and positioning strategies.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensured all marketing materials and campaigns adhered to federal and state regulations, avoiding prohibited language and claims.
Digital Marketing Strategy: Developed strategies for social media, email marketing, and content marketing that would build brand awareness while complying with industry regulations.
Benchmark Goals: Established realistic and measurable goals for each quarter, with a focus on gradual market penetration and brand recognition.
Present Day
Currently, Hamer Vodka is in the fundraising phase, preparing for its official launch and subsequent marketing campaigns. My role will adapt based on the company's needs; I am prepared to either execute the marketing plan or serve as an advisor on the board to ensure strategic alignment and regulatory compliance.
By balancing creativity with compliance, I helped lay the groundwork for Hamer Vodka to enter the market confidently. The brand is now poised for a successful launch, with a solid plan in place to navigate the challenges of the alcohol industry.
